Amish

Books: No Electricity Required
In my Authoritative Sources post, I mentioned not watching TV.

Fact: I have not watched TV, in my home, since 2007ish and do not miss it in the least bit.

Don't get me wrong -- I am not opposed to TV. I have one, but it is only setup to watch movies. I can think of better and much more interesting things to do with my time...

With that said, my friends have nicknamed me "Amish" because I am absolutely clueless when they start talking about the latest episode of Grey's Anatomy, True Blood or that funny commercial they saw last night. In fact, one of them went as far as to buy me a pretty nifty shirt that says, "Books: No Electricity Required." (Thanks, The Most.)

This week in the mail, one of my Delta Alpha sisters, Kane, sent me the movie Becoming Jane because she knows I adore Jane Austen. (Thanks, Kane.)

To prove that I am not against pop culture, in my defense, I can chat it up about the latest news from the alternative and indie rock scene. (The new album, All at Once, by The Airborne Toxic Event is first rate!).
