About Jill Brown

Thus far the majority of this blog has focused on my experiences in library school. Now that I graduated with my MLIS (May 2013), I will be focusing on my career in rural libraries as well as other bookish adventures. With that said, I should probably mention that the views and opinions expressed on this blog are my own and not those of my employer or the organizations in which I am affiliated with unless otherwise explicitly stated.

Research interests: I am fascinated by intellectual freedom and censorship topics, specifically, during periods of war such as issues related to the Third Reich (think: clandestine publishing, underground libraries, the Nazi book burnings of 1933, the banned book list, and textbook censorship). I am also interested in exploring the state of collection development policies and training pertaining to censorship and intellectual freedom in rural, Michigan public libraries (Class 1 - 3).
