Plan of Work

In preparation for meeting with my academic advisor, I need to develop my POW draft. Research for a recent project involved me visiting several libraries, two of the three were rural libraries in my area and the third a suburban library. What I found in the rural libraries was not surprising. The library director / librarian shoulders most of the programming responsibility with the help and support from their staff.

Considering that reality, my POW needs to reflect. My concentration is Public Libraries. With that said, the School of Library and Information Science has three categories: highly recommended electives, recommended electives, and general electives. Being the typical INTJ, I need to plan and prepare for what I am going to encounter...a bit of everything.

POW Brainstorm:
Introduction to the Information Profession (Core)
Information Technology (Core
Access to Information (Core)
Organization of Knowledge (Core)
Library Administration and Management (Core)

Collection Development and Selection of Materials
